ET's review of Vampire Knight

Vampire Knight

I was very apprehensive about this anime, as I previously mentioned I don't tend to like this genre at all, supernatural yes, comedy yes, romance definitely not. but all together this anime is OK, as long as you don't connect it to twilight as it has the same type of feel.

synopsis:
vampire knight is a supernatural romance, not my sort of genre with bits of comedy. its about a girl who goes to a school where there are two classes one class are humans the others are vampires. she and a man named zero have to stop the day class from finding out that the night class are vampires while going through there own personal turmoils and difficulties (i cant change this font it wont let me)

characters:
Yuki- this is the main character of the anime, personally I found her incredibly irritating. shes the typical i love him but i love him, being all confused and over all a bit useless. I liked the way her character was drawn and dubbed. I just prefer my female protagonist a bit more independent and strong willed not relying on all the male characters surrounding her.

Zero- He is the second main character, a human who is becoming a vampire, who resents vampires after his family was murdered by one as a child. I didn't mind this character so much I felt he needed a deeper dubbed voice. but overall his personality fitted his back story a bit self loathing and a loner not used to sharing. his character sufferers the most through out the anime but tends to be one of the stronger characters. I personally preferred this character out of all of them but he still irritated me and there wasn't much choice. He went nice then mean with out any meaning or advantage so i didn't like it.

kaname- He is a pure blood vampire who saved Yuki as a child from being killed as a vampire. I didn't like this character at all he was pompous angry and manipulative. he appears to be kind hearted but through out the series it fore shadows a deeper goal to his character. he is in constant competition with zero and seems to want Yuki to himself but happy. this character is otherwise shrouded in mystery.

Art: I loved the art to this anime, very crisp with dark tones. adding to the supernatural theme of the anime. this anime was good at matching art with tone.

Music: to be completely honest i don't know how to truly interpret anime them songs, but the ones i listened to were OK and didn't irritate me too much but i listened to them only a few times so that's OK.

So the only negatives of this anime is that's its a bit cheesy romancey stuff, a lot of the girl in trouble confused etc. but if you don't mind a bit of cliche and the usual vampire love story definitely a recommendation. so yeah check it out with an open mind of course.

music for today is razorblade by blue October love this song its so awesome.
